TET Syllabus in Website | Five Lakh Candidates to Appear for TET

NCERT has released the full details of TET exam syllabus. Syllabus details are available in a website that is designed especially for this purpose. TET is being conducted for the first time in Andhra Pradesh and these measures are taken for the convenience of applicants. It is expected that nearly five lakh candidates are going to appear for the exam that is going to be conducted on 31st July, 2011. Results of TET will be released within three to four weeks of conducting the exam. Details relating the syllabus of TET are available in the websites www. apscert.org and http:// aptet.ogg.gov.in.

Physical Training Education teachers were referred to as part-time trainers in the guidelines of Right of Education and National Committee of Teacher Education. With this it is not clear whether TET is held for PET candidates or not. TET committee members are saying that a decision regarding this will be taken by discussing with NCTE.

Important details of TET

  • TET exam notification will be issued before 20th May, 2011.
  • Candidates have to do online registrations. Price of the application form is Rs. 300.
  • Those who teach from first class to fifth class should appear for paper-1.
  • Teachers of sixth to eighth classes should appear for Paper-2.
  • Bhasha pandits also have to appear for Paper-2.
  • Paper-1 will be conducted in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya and Tamil languages for the convenience of the candidates.
  • Paper-2 will be in Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil and Sanskrit languages.
  • In each paper for maximum marks of 150, OC candidates should get 90 marks of 60%; BC candidates should secure 75 marks or 50%; SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates should get 60 marks or 40% to be considered as qualified.
  • In the recruitment of teachers, 20% weightage is given to TET marks and 80% weightage is given to DSc marks.
  • After January, 2012 only Diploma in Education candidates are eligible to teach in primary schools.
  • BEd candidates who are to teach in primary schools can write Paper-1 in 2011, but from January, 2012 will have to write only Paper-2.
