After launching Galaxy Tab, Samsung brings 2 more Honeycomb-based tablets with 10.1 and 8.9 inch screen. The company’s goal is to offer a range of tablets for different needs, said Samsung’s mobile division president JK Shin. She also described the people point of view regarding the different screens. She said, “People expect different user experiences for different screen sizes.”
Samsung’s new 8.9 and 10.1 inch tablets are just 8.6mm thin which are absolutely thinner than the 10.1 Galaxy Tab. Both of new tablets have 1,280-by-800 and PLS displays. The 10.1-inch model has a 6800 mAh battery and the 8.9-inch model has a 600 mAh battery with 10 hours backup. Both of devices will have 3-megapixel rear camera with 720p video recording and 2-megapixel front cameras.
The 10.1-inch tablet will be available June 8, and the other model will be available early this summer. 4G versions of the tablets will follow, and pricing will be “very competitive”, Samsung chief strategy officer Omar Khan said.
